WORK has already begun on Ellenbrook Secondary College’s $25 million upgrade.
The school, which currently caters for years 7 to 10, will increase its intake to Year 11 next year and Year 12 in 2011.
Building contractor Universal Constructions will be working on the school’s additions, which include seven science laboratories, eight upper school classrooms, four information technology laboratories and three seminar rooms.
Material technologies, tennis courts, resource and activity areas and a lecture theatre will also be part of the school.
Principal Leigh Cottrill said teachers and students were very excited about the new facilities and classes.
Education Minister Elizabeth Constable announced the plans last week and said the artists impression of the school promised “spectacular buildings which will be an attractive addition to the Ellenbrook town centre”.
It is due for completion in early 2011.
