THERE is a saying that dogs make more friends than people because they wag their tails and not their tongues. I echo the sentiments of many others by preferring dogs to people.
This letter is specifically directed at those who constantly bombard these pages with their anti-dog philosophy of life. Such people are a painful reminder that common sense is dead, that courtesy and consideration have long since departed.
They frequently visit dog beaches and are surprised to encounter dogs whereupon they attack dog owners with mediocre dialogue such as “put that dog on a lead or I will ring the ranger”.
If this is all these people have to worry about then I say “get a life”.
Dogs tend to be more environmentally friendly than humans, as they don’t leave a pile of litter everywhere and expect others to clean up the mess.
Neither do they take over the beach windsurfing and create breaches of public safety, nor do they do drugs or consume alcohol, leaving a trail of broken bottles.
Yes folks, don’t know about you but I prefer to be in the company of pooches; they offer so much more and expect precious little in return.
And to all dogs everywhere, be they ladies or tramps, this letter is respectfully dedicated.
